6 months after graduation is a relatively fishy statistic!
Agreed, but it is the standard to live and die by. Wish they would come-up with something better. Any suggestions?
Which standard is this? Queen's is the only school that uses this strange metric. The rest of the b-school world uses 3 months.
Most of the schools I looked at used a 6 month placement stat. If you are really curious you should write the administration. They would be happy to answer your question in detail.
A couple of things
1)This is lower because of a trend for Canadian students to take a period of time to "decompress" after the program prior to looking for work - Only partly true. People take a month or so off. Not six months. I know the last batch well. Its not like they are decompressing at the moment. They are looking for jobs as eagerly as others. They are just not getting it. I am not saying its schools fault. The global economy is in a bad shape. But "Decompressing" is not the reason
2) 6 months after the MBA people usually take up any job they are offered. Doesn't matter if the salary is in mid 40's. They need to get the cash flows going.
3) Indians - 100% is a wrong number. I know someone who doesn't have a job yet.
4) Europeans - There were no europeans in the class of 2008. So I assume 100% comes from 0/0?
